Paul Bissell
Paul Bissell
Paul has taught at Del Mar College since 1997. He has instructed in both percussion and music technology fields. From 1992-1997 at Louisiana Tech University, he taught percussion and music technology. Since 2007, he has exclusively taught music technology and recording classes at DMC.
As a composer, his compositions have been performed worldwide and are published by Theodore Presser and Marimba Publications. His writing includes articles for Sound on Sound, Percussive Notes, the Transoniq Hacker, and books for Go Fish Music including "Al Di Meola - Classics", a collection of transcriptions.
Dr. Bissell has performed with a variety of orchestras and can be heard on the Spy Kids 2 soundtrack. For fun, he records local artists and runs live sound in (often) less-than-ideal circumstances.
